Fall 2026
Parent and Family Orientation will take place from Saturday, August 29, to Sunday, August 30, 2026.
Mass of Welcome and President's Address
Celebrate the start of OLÉ Weekend with us! This tradition is a highlight of move-in weekend. Students and families of all faith traditions are welcome to this beautiful ceremony, which concludes with a special blessing to wish students well in their new chapter at USD.
Evening at the Park
As you separate from your student while they attend their orientation, join us in Fowler Park to unwind and mingle with other families and deans. It's the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow USD families, chat with university leadership, and relax while enjoying delicious food and drinks!
Financial Aid Information Session
Have you covered all the transactional details? In this session, the Torero Hub will dive into essential topics like financial aid, paying your bill and other important updates. An overview will be provided on what to expect in the coming year to inform you about critical financial and administrative processes.
Exploring Opportunities: International Study Abroad and Career Development
Join our popular info session on International Study Abroad and Career Development (CDev). Hear from top administrators about exciting opportunities for students to live and study in over 30 countries, engage in research and internships, and how they can gain career skills outside of the classroom.
Parent and Family Sessions: From Caretaker to Coach | Student Wellness
While your student is at their required community meeting, join campus administrators to explore college scenarios and discover how to effectively support your student's growth and independence as a coach. This session will offer valuable insights and strategies for guiding your student through their college journey. You will also have a chance to learn more about Student Wellness opportunities on campus in our session lead by our colleagues from the Student Wellness Center.
Torero Resource Fair
Get to know a range of campus resources available to you. Learn more, ask questions and enjoy pizza and salad while connecting with new USD students, families and administrators. This will be your final opportunity to spend time with your student before they continue with their orientation events. This will be your final event with your student and your chance to say farewell until Homecoming and Family Weekend.
Sweet Spirited Send Off
Say your final goodbyes and join us for a sweet treat! This farewell activity is the perfect opportunity to share one last special moment with your student before they officially kick off their university journey. Grab some delicious ice cream, mingle with other Torero families, and send your student off with a smile!
